Anthropic’s new Claude certification launched in March with a six-month expiration clock. On June 30, before most people who’d earned it had even reached their first renewal window, that clock got replaced with a twelve-month one, and everyone already certified under the old terms got the extension retroactively applied to their original earn date, according to Anthropic’s own certification FAQ. Most of the commentary around the program treated the short clock as a flaw. I think the reversal is the more honest data point. (Everything below is current as of late July 2026 — this is a program that has already changed its own terms twice in four months.)
